Jascha Polemountains

In the spirit of providing value and building strong community relationships, welcome to a series focused on highlighting community creatives so we can all get to know, network, collaborate, and support each other a little bit more. This week’s morning Community Creative highlight is Jascha Polemountains. Here is Jascha in her own words.

Where are you from and what is it like there?

I’m from the Netherlands but not from Amsterdam, from the (way better) heart of the country: Utrecht . I live in the East now, near the German border, because I wanted to study in a different area.

What is something random about you?

My last name is Mastbergen: In Dutch, ‘Mast’ is a translation of ‘Pole’ and ‘Bergen’ are ‘Mountains’

What type of creator are you (i.e. photographer, model, MUA(H), etc.)? How did you get into it?

I am a hobbyist model who will be in California during the spring semester. I just love to create pictures in which I’m a different person every time, to remember me by in very different ways.

Do you do it for fun or professionally? Any success tips for people who may be interested in what you are doing?

I want to become a clinical sexologist, so modeling is not my profession but I think I like modeling best as a hobby since it can be a tough business.

Anything new or recent you’re working on that you’re excited about?

I am open to any concepts, especially concepts that have something extra (artistically) will fit my preferences but because I don’t have many basic/casual shoots in my portfolio, that would also be cool to add.

What is something you can help other members with? What is something members can help you with right now?

I will make mood boards and start picking dates with photographers from now on. Make-up artists, stylists or other models are very welcome to collaborate as well! And I’m thinking of renting costumes at www.act-sf.org but it is quite expensive for one shoot. Maybe there are other models who would want to share the costs, since you’re allowed to rent the piece for a week and won’t need it all week for one shooting day. I hope to plan many creative and awesome days during my time in San Rafael!

We hope you enjoyed this week’s Community Creative! Stay tuned for next week.
