Community Guidelines

These Guidelines and our Terms and Conditions are designed to ensure every user has a safe and enjoyable experience on Twine. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in losing access to our platform. Twine is for friendships only. Anyone seeking romantic connections should use dating apps instead. Don’t do anything illegal on our site. Illegal activity will not be tolerated on Twine. This may result in being banned from the site, and/or being reported to the authorities.

Copyright & Trademark Infrigement
We take copyrights very seriously. If you don’t own the rights to a photo or video, please don’t post it. If it’s not yours, don’t post it.

  • Face must be clearly visible in at least one photo.
  • No watermarks or text overlaid.
  • No pornographic material.
  • No graphic hunting photos.
  • No guns.
  • You can upload your portfolio or work samples.

Respect All Users
We’re a very diverse community. This means you should respect other people’s beliefs, interests and property while on Twine. Twine takes a strong stance against hate speech, rude or abusive behavior, bullying, and misogyny. You should behave the same way on Twine as you would in real life. Additionally we encourage all of our users to report anyone who does not follow these behavioral guidelines. As a community rooted in kindness and respect, we expect all of our users to respect each other, themselves, and the Twine staff.

Do not engage, or encourage others to engage, in any targeted abuse or harassment against any other user. This includes sending any unsolicited sexual content to others. Reports of stalking, threats, bullying, or intimidation, are taken very seriously.

Violence and Physical Harm
We do not tolerate violent, graphic, or gory content on Twine, or any actions or content that advocate for or threaten violence of any sort, including threatening or promoting terrorism. Physical assault, coercion, and any acts of violence are strictly prohibited.

Content that advocates for or glorifies suicide or self-harm is also not allowed. In these situations, we may take a number of steps to assist the user, including reaching out with crisis resources.

Send Original Messages
We strongly advise against copying and pasting the same message to every person. We encourage our users to read profiles, learn about other people’s interests, and send an appropriate, relevant message to each person. We promise this will increase your chances of engaging in interesting conversations.

Don’t pretend you’re someone you’re not. As previously stated, do not post photos that are not of you. Do not impersonate, or otherwise misrepresent affiliation, connection or association with, any person or entity. This includes parody accounts.

No Soliciting
Twine isn’t for selling things. If you try to use it as a marketplace, you’ll be banned. This includes coupon codes & sales links.

Illegal Usage
Don’t use Twine to do anything illegal. If it’s illegal in real life, it’s illegal on Twine.

Twine has a zero-tolerance policy on predatory behavior of any kind. Anyone attempting to get other users’ private information for fraudulent or illegal activity may be banned. Any user caught sharing their own financial account information (PayPal, Venmo, etc.) for the purpose of receiving money from other users may also be banned from Twine.

You must be 18 years of age or older to use Twine. As such, we do not allow images of unaccompanied minors. If you want to post photos of your children, please make sure that you are in the photo as well. If you see a profile that includes an unaccompanied minor, encourages harm to a minor, or depicts a minor in a sexual or suggestive way, please report it immediately.

If you don’t follow these guidelines, you’ll receive a warning (unless our team decides to block without warning at our discretion). If you ignore this warning, you risk losing your account. These guidelines are designed to make Twine a friendly and safe place for all our users.
